As we are moving forward into the new year, I am contemplating what new homesteading skills I want to develop this year. I have settled on two:
– herbal medicine
– garden coaching

It is my plan to spend the whole year figuring out and perfecting these skills, as I am starting a brand new garden from scratch in a new state and a new garden zone, and I can grow my own herbs and learn how best to utilize them to fill a healthy, NON-pharmaceutical medicine cabinet… and by the time I have medicines to put in the cabinet, I will have a bigger cabinet to put them in!

Skills I am continuing to perfect include fermentation and canning, along with food-prepping. The art of sourdough still eludes me, but I will not give up! And I have found a few trusted sources that might have the secrets to get me up to speed, and I am sure that when I get a functioning oven instead of using an air fryer for baking THAT will help tremendously!

What holistic or homesteading (or BOTH) skills are you working on this year? How can I help you reach your holistic homesteading goals? Tag me in the comments and let me know- I will be creating a monthly email newsletter in the next week or so and would love to provide useful help for you there. More on that soon!
